Dr Ed Coats MBBS MD MRCOG BSc (Hons) LLM DFRSH
Ed is an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultant and Fertility Specialist working in Oxford and London. He undertook specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the South-West of England and completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Nottingham. He has won national and international awards, is widely published and is regularly asked to write for books on fertility.
Having qualified in medicine in 2005 Ed has worked in many different environments as a doctor. Ed studied human physiology and its application to extreme environments, but specifically man’s adaption to heat, cold, high altitude, hypoxia and microgravity. Over the years Ed has worked as an expedition doctor and leader in the Arctic, Antarctic and Africa.
